The third TropOut gay beach festival will take place in Phuket next year from April 15-22, 2018.
TropOut launched in Phuket in 2016, and demand to return to Thailand was so high that organisers decided to lock in a follow-up edition of this iconic gay travel event, something that will delight returning guests, and those determined to see what all the fuss is about.
Festival organisers have also confirmed Phuket will be first of three TropOut events in 2018, after staging one-off events in 2016 and 2017 (taking place next month in New Caledonia).
The expanded 2018 schedule will encompass three idyllic destinations, promising to bring the TropOut experience of “Chill, Party, Explore” to a new global audience.
TropOut Managing Director Aaron Zoanetti couldn’t be more excited to kick off the huge 2018 itinerary by returning to the location where TropOut made its name.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be returning to Phuket. The feedback from our launch event was so strong that we were compelled to look at coming back and doing it all over again,” he said.
“Thailand offers so much for the gay traveller, it really is perfect for our guests. And it’s no secret that the Thai islands are where everyone wants to return to time and time again, including us.”
Phuket’s unique location has one distinct advantage – true international accessibility means festival-goers can easily access the event from all over Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.
“TropOut guests love to mingle and explore with like-minded people from across the world and it’s that feature that resonated really strongly for us last year,” Zoanetti said. “We also know April is the best month in Phuket – the weather is perfect, but without the peak-season prices.”
TropOut Phuket’s list of attractions reads like a bucket-list for the curious and adventurous, with swimming, scuba diving, paddle boarding and kite surfing options alongside authentic cooking classes, ancient cultural exploration, professional yoga instruction and invigorating Thai massages.
Thailand’s cuisine is world famous and organisers will make every effort to make sure visiting foodies can indulge their passion at every level, from magnificent fine dining to the best of the region’s street food.
And of course, TropOut wouldn’t be TropOut without those famous parties. If you’ve seen the pictures all over social media, now it’s time to join in on the other side of the lens.
“We had several parties in Phuket which were all spectacular,” Zoanetti said. “Our Beach Party ended up attracting 700 people, huge media coverage and anyone who was there will forever remember how special it was. The pool party at Dream Beach Club was also great fun.
“So, can we top that? It will be tough – but let me just say that we have a plan for something special.”
